I have to admit, I don’t often say “wow” to a website redesign, but this video definitely caught my attention. Talk about a radical approach.
What I like here is the large-scale rethink of the site. It’s no longer a news-based page, it’s an application. Almost like the iTunes Store.
And so naturally, it will never happen.
This follows suit with a growing trend in [web] design, where designers will simply take it upon themselves to redesign a site they are frustrated with. Dustin Curtis redesigned the American Airlines website after his ongoing struggle with trying to book a flight. Remember that?
People have also attempted to salvage the MySpace website. At the time, it was a severe improvement.
And yes, I have a few projects in mind for redesigning something terrible.
