Add this to the ever-evolving lexicon of technology-inspired terminology. Bacn is the new term for those emails that invariably arrive in your inbox, but don’t demand your attention — or even deserve it.

Bacn is the blanket term for all those newsletters, alerts, updates, offers, and other messages from sources you know and trust, but you don’t feel like being bothered with. Facebook notifications, monthly updates from forums, and software update newsletters are all prime examples.

Where did I come up with this? I didn’t. The web has been buzzing about it for a few days now.
